1. How long does it take a car to travel from Melbourne to Bendigo if the average speed is 80km/h^-1? The distance is 151km.
2. A car travels from Melbourne to Bendigo and back in 4 hours. What is the average speed? What is the average velocity? The distance is 151km one way.
3.A plane carrying passengers from Melbourne to Perth flies at an average speed of 250ms^-1. The flight takes 3.0 hours. Use the information to determine the approximate distance between Melbourne and Perth.
4. A motorcycle travelling at 110km/h^-1 overtakes a car moving at 85.0km/^-1. If they are both travelling due west, what is the velocity of the care relative to the motorcycle? Leave answer in kmh^-1.
5. A train passes through a station at 72km^-1. In one of the carriages a boy is walking towards the front of the train at 2.00ms-1.What is the velocity of the boy relative to a person waiting on the station platform?
6. A motor boat can travel at 6ms^-1 in still water. If the boat is travelling downstream in a river where the current flows at 1.50ms^-1, what would be the resultant velocity?
7. The normal velocity of an airplane is 118ms^-1. Determine the direction of the flight path if the aircraft must travel due west and there is an 18ms^-1 wind blowing from the south. (Need a diagram and working out)
8. A ship sails S 45 degrees at 10ms^-1. A tug boat crosses the bow (front of ship) at 5ms^-1 heading N45 degrees W. Calculate the velocity and direction of the tug boat relative to the ship. ( need diagram and working out)

I think that you may have posted on the wrong board. Although we appreciate your coming to us for help, we don't just answer homework questions for students.
The way we help is to check where you are not understanding what you need to do. That usually involves students telling us what they know about the problem, how to start answering it and where they get stuck.
Maybe you don't know how to even start any of these problems?
Well, for #1, all that you need to do is apply the formula d=rt. You must know about that formula if you are being assigned these questions (unless your class is just beginning and the instructor wants to know how much you already know).
Please let us know what formulas you know and what they mean.
