College and Financial Aid Information

Postby MsTutor » Thu Jul 03, 2008 10:19 am

If you are a junior in high school or older and planning on attending a two or four year college, this folder is recommended for your use.

You need to start early in your junior year, if you haven't already done so, in making your preliminary college selections and becoming aware of financial aid which will be available to you. To assist in this effort, I have listed some good web sites which are divided into financial aid and college search.

You will find out that you need to consider the following facts (and others) when picking a college:
1. The size of college you want
2. If it has your major
3. If it has your sport (if you are playing sports)
4. The distance from home
5. The type of dorms available
6. The amount of financial aid available

Good luck in your college planning.

Another good one is http://www.edutrek.com/. They have a thing where students can browse schools or get matched to them. They also have a cool section called "Real College Stories" where college graduates have written out their advice and experiences in college.
